We work with clients in various sectors who are embarking on a digital transformation journey, supporting them with skilled digital talent across the whole duration of the project.
It’s rewarding work, particularly when partnering with this client, a world renowned, non-profit scientific pioneer in the fight against climate change.
This case study outlines our relationship with them, and how we’ve supported a flagship digital transformation project over the past five years.
Alongside its scientific research, this client runs a hugely successful visitor attraction which receives a large volume of visitors each year.
Operationally, it needs to manage everything from online ticket sales to parking, EPOS and stock management in order to provide excellent customer service for those visitors.
The objective of the digital transformation project is to enhance the visitor experience, bringing disparate systems together in one place to make things easier for the customer, provide the business with a single view of the customer, reduce costs, and improve profitability.
We first met with the digital transformation team in 2019 to learn more about the project's goals and hiring requirements. Since then, we have developed a close working relationship with them, to the extent that we are now regarded as an integral part of the team.
The people we placed have supported the technical infrastructure and delivered a Dynamics 365 implementation. It included Finance & Operations and Customer Engagement modules and integrated customer facing systems across two key phases. Roles hired include:
The success of the partnership lies in the strong relationship between our Head of Data & Technology and the client's IT Manager. From the outset, she felt Dave was a good fit for the business and now, almost five years later, she says he is ‘always my first port of call’.
The IT Manager receives a requirement, passes the key details to Dave and sets up a call with the specific hiring manager who the role will report to.
We have a good system going. The conversation is around the must haves, what the deliverables are and the ‘would be nice’ aspects. David asks questions and outlines what’s achievable within budget.
With a clear idea of what is needed, Dave and his team of data and digital recruitment consultants can work on finding great candidates.
You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the CV selection. David knows the personalities here very well and knows what’s needed to fit into the team.
Working through G-Cloud, Boston Have has introduced almost 40 digital specialists into the team, predominantly contractors with a handful of permanent hires. As a G-Cloud contract, we manage framework compliance and payroll, taking responsibility for a large part of administration.
The IT Manager and her team have been extremely satisfied with the work that our consultants have delivered to support the project over the five years since our initial meeting. She said:
They have all performed really well, we regularly renew and extend contracts.
It’s a great relationship, and it works. I can pick up the phone and I know that David will jump on it and get results quickly.
It’s like having our own HR Business Partner, he’s become part of the team.
The longevity of the partnership, with no change in account management at Boston Hale, means that we know exactly what the digital team is looking for. And, not just from a skill and expertise perspective, but also who is likely to fit into the existing team, make an impact and get results.
We are able to think outside the box, provide a level of consultancy around roles and budgets and have meaningful conversations about what skills and experience are needed to deliver the project's goals.
And it's a project that David and the team are particularly pleased to have worked on.
We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to support the team and play a part in this major digital transformation programme.
Implementing the latest technology will benefit customers, help control costs and secure profits for this iconic institution.
