We are hiring on behalf of a world-famous scientific organisation who are expanding their team. They require an Interim Finance Business Partner (Research) at short notice, ideally someone who would be interested in permanent opportunities over the coming months.

The overall purpose of the role is to provide support to departments with grant-funded projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Qualified Accountant who understands restricted and unrestricted funds.

Day to day duties:

• Work with stakeholders to ensure grant applications are correctly costed
• Report accrual expenditure vs budget for grants
• Report to external funders
• Regularly reforecast grant expenditure for the lifetime of the grant
• Produce monthly management accounts
• Prepare annual budgets including department costs

Essential criteria:

• Qualified accountant
• Understanding restricted and unrestricted funds
• Proven ability to liaise effectively with staff at all management and directorate levels
• Strong IT skills including excellent Excel

Desirable criteria:

• Understand what research grants are
• Pre and post award experience
