This role is to support all indirect procurement across Synthomer’s UK sites. It’s a great opportunity for a professional with 2-6 year’s experience to grow their career in a FTSE250 company.
Be an integral part of the wider EMEA Procurement Team
Deliver best value purchasing: cost savings, quality, flexibility
Adopt and promote preferred suppliers. Negotiate and manage the supply base in your region as directed by the Procurement Manager
Undertake the operational (transactional) purchasing activities (tendering, PO creation, invoice query resolution, master data (in conjunction with the systems and process team) and follow-up on the purchases with the sites and suppliers – managing quality, time, cost issues etc.
Inform & support the Procurement Manager for the region in delivering value and managing supply risk in line with the group procurement objectives
Be the single point of contact for the site teams for all their indirect (non-raw material / logistics) requirements and supplier queries (e.g. invoice queries)
Liaising cross-functionally with the site teams and AP teams e.g. operations, finance, QSHE
2 years’ experience in a petrochem/chemical/manufacturing Procurement team
Strong SAP/ERP skills
Strong preference for experience buying CapEx, Equipment and MRO
Confident working with global and senior stakeholders, suppliers & colleagues
Experience of managing multiple contracts and suppliers
Graduate or equivalent professional experience; highly numerate
