Our client, a major media organisation based in Central London, is looking for an Analytics Manager to drive audience and revenue growth for one of their flagship publications. You would be leading a team of analysts to provide customer, digital, social and marketing insight.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own the reporting and analytics roadmap for the publication, which concentrates efforts on key business priorities and has senior-level business sponsorship
  • Responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality analysis and reporting, using appropriate analytical methodologies
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Information teams to enhance recommendations, including Insight (market research) and Campaigns (customer communications)
  • Stakeholder management: Work with stakeholders to manage the prioritisation and delivery of planned and ad hoc briefs
  • Team management: administration, resource allocation, mentoring, personal development, PDRs
  • Ensure analysts are extracting the critical indicators from large and complex data sets, and interpreting and expressing these indicators in a business context
  • Set ways of working expectations for analysts to embed with and work in synergy with the business

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrable management or team leader experience
  • Ability to manage, influence and resolve conflict across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to develop analysts through coaching and mentoring
  • Knowledge of a range of analytical methodologies, including knowledge of data exploration, presentation and visualisation, and technologically literate
  • Strong background in web/digital analytics, preferably using Google Analytics
  • Record of delivering commercially beneficial analytics and data-based insights to large businesses
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving skills, ability to draw meaningful conclusions from disparate and incomplete sources. Understanding of analytics processes using any media/channel
  • Strong communication skills: written, visual and verbal, and the ability to understand complex business questions and to be able to frame the right analytical question
  • Media industry experience is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working alongside research teams to deliver collaborative outputs is desirable
  • Data manipulation skills -to help handle and process large data sets and produce concise analysis and reports
