Policy brief & purpose

Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) company policy demonstrates Boston Hale’s commitment to operating in a manner which produces economic, social and environmental benefits. We realise that as a successful business, we need to make sure we are giving back to the wider community. We do not operate alone, but rather are part of a broader collection of people, values and organisations. Our policy demonstrates how we monitor and ensure our active compliance with the law, ethical standards and international norms at all levels of the business and in all connections with suppliers, candidates and clients.

Policy Elements

Our CSR policy focuses on two different areas – compliance and proactiveness. Compliance refers to our company’s commitment to legality and willingness to observe community values. Proactiveness refers to our social responsibility to promote human rights, help communities and protect our natural environment.
Compliance

Boston Hale guarantees that all employees will:

· Abide by the law
· Honour the internal policies outlined in the company handbook
· Ensure all business dealings are authentic
· Keep all partnerships open and transparent

Our business model includes policies on:

· Bribery prevention
· Health & Safety
· Equality & Diversity

Proactiveness

Boston Hale has a CSR department to oversee the proactive and charitable elements of our CSR Policy.

Charity

We value the input of our employees when it comes to the charities we choose to support. Therefore, we allow employees to nominate charities for each of our charitable events throughout the year. This gives people an opportunity to raise money for causes that have a special affinity to them and their families. Previous examples of these have been Maggie’s and Winston’s Wish.

Volunteering

Part of our CSR plan will see employees allowed the time to volunteer during office hours. This can be through different programs organised internally or externally and can be both individual and group orientated.

Environmental Responsibility

As a business and as people, Boston Hale recognises the need to protect the environment and promote sustainability at every opportunity. As such, Boston Hale has committed to:

· Incorporating a recycling scheme in our office
· Promoting different modes of transport to staff, including a ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme
· Reducing water and energy consumption
· Promoting a purchasing policy which will give preference, as far as practicable, to those products and services which cause the least harm to the environment
