Business Development Manager - Technology & Industry

A leading international law firm is creating a new Business Development Manager position to support the continued growth of its highly regarded Technology Industry Group and expand its technology client base across California.

This is a high-profile opportunity to work directly with senior attorneys, industry leaders and the firm's California Steering Committee. The successful candidate will help shape and deliver the firm's growth strategy across a rapidly evolving technology market, including areas such as artificial intelligence, data centers and quantum computing.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Working alongside attorneys on business planning and growth strategies

* Identifying technology-sector trends, emerging markets and new revenue opportunities

* Developing new business from existing clients and prospective relationships

* Leading pitches, RFP responses and client-facing materials

* Conducting market and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions

* Supporting cross-practice and key-client initiatives

* Tracking pipelines, pitch outcomes and return on investment

* Supporting the California Steering Committee with strategic and operational projects

* Developing thought leadership, events and external positioning initiatives

The ideal candidate will have:

* At least five years' business development or marketing experience within professional services

* Previous law firm experience, which is strongly preferred

* A strong understanding of the California technology landscape

* Experience working with senior stakeholders on business planning and client development

* Excellent writing, communication and project-management skills

* A proactive, commercial and results-focused approach

Candidates must be able to attend the firm's Palo Alto, Los Angeles or San Francisco office three days per week.
