Boston Hale is working with a leading international law firm to recruit a Senior Pricing Manager to lead its established European pricing function.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced law firm pricing professional who will be the most senior member of the pricing team based in Europe, managing a team responsible for providing commercial pricing support across the region.

Working closely with partners, practice leaders and firm management, the successful candidate will play a central role in developing pricing arrangements for key clients, advising on matter economics and supporting the firm's commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the European pricing team, overseeing the delivery of pricing support across the region.


• Work directly with partners to develop commercial pricing arrangements for key clients and respond to RFPs.


• Advise on pricing options, explaining the financial implications, risks and commercial benefits of different approaches.


• Lead financial assessments of proposed fee arrangements, including profitability analysis and matter economics.


• Present pricing recommendations and financial analysis to partners and senior management.


• Oversee the review and approval of fee arrangements in accordance with firm policies.


• Review existing pricing and rate arrangements to identify opportunities to improve profitability and commercial performance.


• Build strong relationships with partners, clients and business services teams to support effective pricing decisions.

Skills and Experience

• Significant pricing experience gained within a law firm, ideally with experience of leading or managing a team.


• Strong commercial and financial understanding, with the ability to advise senior stakeholders on complex pricing arrangements.


• Experience developing alternative fee arrangements and supporting client RFPs.


• Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior partners.


• A degree in finance, accounting, business or a related discipline.


• A legal qualification or previous experience in legal services would be advantageous.


• Advanced Excel skills, with knowledge of SQL and ideally Power BI.


• Familiarity with GenAI platforms such as Harvey, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Claude.


• Experience working with legal financial management systems, preferably Aderant Expert.

The role is based in London, with a hybrid working arrangement of three days per week in the office.
