Job Description.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and strategic finance professional to join a leading institution as a Deputy Director of Finance.



 



As a key member of the Finance Directorate, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the financial strategy, driving long-term financial sustainability, and ensuring the effective management of resources to support strategic priorities.



 



About the Role



Working closely with the Director of Finance, the Deputy Director will provide leadership across the full range of financial operations - including financial planning, reporting, treasury management, and compliance. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence strategy at the highest level, contributing directly to long-term success.



 



Key Responsibilities




  • Support the Director of Finance in delivering the institutional financial strategy.

  • Lead on medium- and long-term financial planning and forecasting.

  • Oversee financial operations, including reporting, budgeting, treasury management, and year-end processes.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, audit, and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing financial guidance and promoting best value from investment.

  • Act as Deputy for the Director of Finance as required.



 



Requirements




  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience

  • Experience in a large, complex organisation

  • An experienced and strategic leader

  • Proven record of driving improvement and efficiency
